Nene Yashiro Chibi

Here’s my first-ever attempt at chibi art—a fanart of Nene Yashiro from Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun! I’ve always loved her adorable and quirky personality, so creating her in chibi form felt like the perfect challenge. It was such a fun experience stepping into a new style!

My first chibi fanart!

For my first chibi art piece, I wanted to highlight Nene Yashiro's bubbly and cheerful personality, so I gave her a cute, playful smile that captures her charm.

To add to the lively vibe, I surrounded her with Mokke—adorable little spirits from Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun known for their mischievous nature and love for sweets.

To tie everything together, I decided to try out a polka dot background, adding a fun and lighthearted touch to the artwork.

It was such a joy experimenting with this style and exploring new creative techniques!

Chibi art for acrylic keychains

One of the reasons I wanted to try a chibi style is because it fits perfectly with acrylic keychain designs.

Unlike my usual detailed illustrations, keychains require bold, expressive lines and simplified details to ensure the design looks clear and vibrant in a small format.

This piece was a great way to experiment with that!

Who knows—this design might eventually go to print, or I might redraw it after more practice.

Either way, it’s exciting to imagine how this style could translate into fun, wearable art!

Sketch - Laying the groundwork

Here’s the sketch with basic colors filled in and the lineart already colored.

Including these details early on in my process helps me better envision the final piece.

I find that having the colors and lines work together from the start creates a stronger sense of harmony in the artwork.

It’s a method I’ve grown to love, as it makes transitioning to the final stages much smoother and more enjoyable!
